Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres at a glance

Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres welcomed its first guests on December 12, 2025, on the beach at Costa Mujeres, north of Cancún, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. All 605 rooms are suites, sold on an all-inclusive basis. The resort lives in two halves separated by a natural fence: The Club, for guests 18 and over, which holds about three quarters of the suites, and the Family Club, where kids have their club, teens have theirs, and a whole water park waits for them. It is the younger sibling of Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, its immediate neighbour, with which it shares the spa.

Is it really all-inclusive?

Yes, and the package goes further than most. Majestic runs the entire resort as "all-Club": every guest, whatever the section, gets butler service, 24-hour room service, a minibar restocked daily, a bottle of premium liquor and a bottle of sparkling wine per stay. Buffets, à la carte restaurants with unlimited visits, drinks at the bars and Wi-Fi throughout the resort are all included.

What costs extra is short: Blossom Spa treatments, laundry, the medical centre and motorized water sports. Quintana Roo also charges an environmental tax per person per night, payable directly at the hotel. The amount changes, so your advisor gives it to you at booking.

The Club or the Family Club: which side should you stay on?

Your whole stay depends on this choice. The Club welcomes guests 18 and over only and holds nearly three quarters of the suites. It has six exclusive pools with swim-up bars and Bali beds, plus two private lounges. For a couple, a honeymoon or a group of friends, it is the natural pick: you enjoy the energy of a big resort without the noise of a waterslide.

The Family Club is built around children. The Splash Kids Club welcomes ages 4 to 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the teens club hosts ages 8 to 11 in the afternoon and 12 to 17 in the evening, and the Splash water park quickly becomes the centre of a six-year-old's world. Parents lose nothing: adults staying in the Family Club have access to every pool, bar and facility of The Club.

Which suite should you choose?

Here, every room is a suite of about 93 m², with a living room closed off by doors, a bathtub and an outdoor jacuzzi for two. Majestic offers ten categories. On the ground floor, swim-up suites open onto the pool through a small garden with a Bali bed. On the top floor, Plunge Pool suites spread over two levels with a large rooftop terrace; the oceanfront version, reserved for The Club, adds a private plunge pool. Families of five or six fit in the Family Suite, which has two bathrooms.

All of them have a Nespresso machine, a minibar, a wine cooler and a safe, and accessible suites are available. The real question for your advisor is the view, pool or ocean, and the section, since a Club suite cannot host a child.

The beach and the pools

The resort sits right on the beach at Costa Mujeres, a white-sand coast far less built up than Cancún's hotel zone. There are twelve pools, five jacuzzis built into them and six swim-up bars, with complimentary Bali beds and sun loungers everywhere, on the beach and around the pools. Non-motorized water sports are included at the beach's water sports centre.

As everywhere on Mexico's Caribbean coast, sargassum can wash up on the beach some weeks, mostly between late spring and late summer. Your advisor can tell you what they know of recent conditions before you set your dates.

Where to eat and drink?

The resort has nine restaurants, seven of them à la carte, with unlimited visits. Marketplace serves the international buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Seaside, facing the sea, offers a buffet by day and becomes a fish and seafood restaurant at night. At dinner, you change countries: Kabuki for Japan, with teppanyaki tables by reservation and a sushi bar, Don Jaume for Argentine-style grills, Fonda Santa Monica for Mexican cooking and tequila, Masala for India. L'Essence, the gourmet table, welcomes guests 12 and over to the sound of the piano.

At breakfast and lunch, two more à la carte tables open: La Rinascita, an Italian restaurant for guests 18 and over, and Legends Sports Lounge, serving American cuisine to guests of all ages. Café Mexicano takes care of espresso and pastries, and McJestic, at the neighbouring Majestic Elegance, serves quick bites until 3 a.m. As for bars, there are fourteen, three of them for guests 18 and over.

How do you get there from Quebec?

Cancún is one of the best-served sun destinations from Montreal, with direct flights of about four hours. On arrival, the resort is 35 km from Cancún International Airport, about 45 minutes by road heading north, away from the hotel zone. Packages from Air Canada Vacations, WestJet Vacations and Sunwing that feature this resort usually include the transfer; your advisor confirms it on your file.

For a tourist stay, Canadians enter Mexico with a passport valid for the whole trip. Rules can change, so check them on travel.gc.ca a few weeks before departure. Once there, the Punta Sam ferry, a few minutes from the resort, takes you to Isla Mujeres for the day. To explore the rest of the area, see our Playa Mujeres guide.

Who it suits, and who it suits less

Majestic Mirage suits couples who want space and a large suite without giving up the buzz, and families looking for a real children's program in a brand-new resort, with the same privileges as Club adults. Food lovers find plenty too, with nine restaurants that truly change from one meal to the next, and golfers have the Puerto Cancún course about fifteen minutes away.

It suits less those who dream of walking to Cancún's bars and shops: Costa Mujeres is set apart, and every outing means a taxi or an excursion. A resort open for less than a year is also still in its break-in period, and service can be uneven in ways that recent reviews describe better than any brochure.

What to know before you book

The spa is in the neighbouring resort. The Blossom Spa and its hydrotherapy area are at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, a few steps away, and treatments are paid. Your section is chosen at booking and shapes the whole stay. A dress code applies at dinner in every restaurant: shorts and sandals are fine, swimwear is not. And if you are hesitating, compare with the neighbours on the same beach: Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, Finest Playa Mujeres or Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres. Fans of the Mirage brand will also find it in the Dominican Republic, at Majestic Mirage Punta Cana.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The resort welcomed its first guests on December 12, 2025, as a soft opening, and Majestic celebrated its grand opening on January 15, 2026. That makes it one of the newest all-inclusives in the Cancún area. A resort this new offers spotless facilities, with a team still finishing its break-in period: your advisor passes on what recently returned clients report.
No. The Club is for guests 18 and over, with its own suites, six exclusive pools and swim-up bars. A family travelling with a minor, teenagers included, stays in the Family Club, which has its kids club, teens club and water park. Adults staying in the Family Club, however, have access to all Club facilities. The section is set at booking, so choose it with your advisor.
Treatments cost extra. The Blossom Spa is located at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, the neighbouring resort of the same chain, and Mirage guests have access to it. It features a water circuit inspired by the cenotes of the Yucatán. Massages and treatments are paid on site; in high season, book your time slots as soon as you arrive.
Yes, the Quintana Roo environmental tax, charged per person per night and payable directly at the hotel. The amount varies between sources and can change, which is why your advisor gives it to you at booking rather than showing it here. Spa treatments and laundry are also added to your bill if you use them.
Yes. Majestic offers free Wi-Fi throughout the resort, in the suites and in the public areas, and a web app gathers the resort's schedules and services. It is plenty for sharing water park photos, streaming a show in the evening or calling family back in Quebec. For demanding remote work, plan a mobile data package as a backup all the same.
Allow about 45 minutes for the 35 km between Cancún International Airport and Costa Mujeres. The road heads north, away from the hotel zone. Most packages sold by Canadian tour operators include the round-trip transfer between the airport and the resort; your advisor confirms it on your file before departure.
They are two neighbouring resorts of the same Mexican chain, Majestic Resorts, sharing the Blossom Spa. The Mirage, opened at the end of 2025, is the newer one: all 605 rooms are suites and it has a water park for families. To compare the two based on your holiday style and your children's ages, your advisor knows the strengths of each.
From December to April, the dry season brings the sunniest days and gentler heat, which also makes it the most popular period for departures from Quebec. From June to November is Atlantic hurricane season, with more heat, more humidity and a risk of sargassum on the beach. May and late November are often a good compromise.
For a tourist stay, a Canadian passport valid for the whole trip is enough, and no visa is required for Canadians. Entry rules can change, so check the Mexico page on travel.gc.ca a few weeks before departure. Your advisor also reminds you of the documents needed if you travel with a minor child.
Yes. According to Majestic's fact sheet, the whole resort runs as "all-Club": every guest, in both sections, is welcomed by a butler who escorts them to their suite while presenting the resort. 24-hour room service, late check-out based on availability and the exclusive lounges are part of the same package. At several resorts in the area, these privileges are reserved for premium categories.
