Atlas Ocean Voyages: a fleet that has shrunk, and what that changes for you

We carry the Atlas fleet in full. World Navigator leads our calendar, ahead of World Traveller and World Voyager. A fourth ship is listed without any departure, for the reason set out below. The number of cruises currently on offer is shown at the top of this page.

The fleet has shrunk, it has not grown

Of seven ships ordered, three sail under this brand. Two were sold to Windstar in April 2024 and two orders were cancelled. One of the two sold became Star Seeker, delivered on 15 December 2025; the other passes to Windstar at the end of 2026. Those are exactly the two ships whose absence from our catalogue is flagged on our Windstar page: the same transaction explains a gap on one side and a shrinkage on the other.

Atlas Adventurer does not exist yet

Which is why she carries no departure with us. The ship was announced in January 2026 for delivery at the end of 2028, at a Chinese yard, and was still in tank testing in the summer of 2026. The first announced departure is in November 2028. Do not sell her as a near-term product, and if a client takes an interest, tell them where the build actually stands.

One ship in three leaves Antarctica

From November 2026, World Voyager goes on a three-year charter to an expedition line for the Antarctic seasons. The brand's own polar capacity therefore rests on two ships, not three. If Antarctica is the point of the trip, ask which ship before booking.

Ice class: what it actually allows

The ships are announced as ice class 1B and polar category C. Plainly: strengthened hulls for the polar summer season, not icebreakers. No promise of pushing through ice holds, and a polar itinerary changes with conditions — true everywhere, but better said before departure than on board.

What is covered, and what no longer is

The line announces meals, wines, spirits, gratuities, the minibar and emergency medical evacuation cover. Polar expeditions add a parka, boots, a charter flight and a hotel night before departure. Watch one switch that many documents still ignore: since 2022 scheduled flights and non-polar excursions are no longer included in the fare. Any older documentation is out of date.

Accessibility and age: stricter than average

Two accessible suites per ship and two elevators. Powered wheelchairs and scooters are not accepted, nor are service animals, and Zodiac transfers can prevent taking part in a landing. That is more restrictive than most cruise lines, and it should be settled before any booking. The minimum age is twelve months on cultural expeditions and eight years on polar ones; there is no children's programme on board.
