A ship that only enters service in 2027
Let us say it up front: the Evolve is not yet sailing for this line. Her entry
into service is announced for 2027, on the Danube, with a stated positioning on
Christmas markets and holiday voyages. Zero departure dates in 2026 is therefore
the normal and expected state, not an anomaly.
On the exact delivery schedule, sources contradict each other: depending where
you read, second quarter 2026, 2027, or May 2027. No first-cruise date is
confirmed. We will not settle it in place of the owner and the line.
What is announced
The ship belongs to the same Dutch river shipowner as her Rhine sister, a
company presenting itself as charter-only: it builds and operates the hulls, then
leases them whole to brands and to companies. The company that will sell you this
trip charters her. So there is no exclusivity.
Announced configuration identical to her sister's: one hundred and thirty-five
metres, three decks, 60 cabins, 120 travellers, a two-level amphitheatre, a
three-level wellness complex, a modular studio, a fleet of bicycles and wraparound
panoramic windows. Connecting cabins convert into suites of around forty square
metres. A lift.
What to take away: all of that is announced, none of it is proven. No yard
period, no traveller feedback, no documented flaw, for the simple reason that the
ship has not yet carried travellers under this banner. Alcoholic drinks are not
included on this ship: she is one of the four named as excluded from that
inclusion.
The ships you can book right now
The Connect is her sister, already in service on the Rhine. The Sea Cloud II is a sea-going
sailing ship. The Lord of the Glens sails in Scotland. The National Geographic Resolution covers the polar regions.
Arranging this trip from Quebec
International air travel is not included in the expedition fare. Some internal
flights essential to the route are, when the itinerary states it explicitly.
Plan a night ahead before embarkation, two if the time difference is large.
That margin is used exactly once, but on that day it saves the trip. Keep the
return day free as well.
We build the complete file — flight, expedition, hotels, transfers, insurance
— under the protection of Quebec's compensation fund for travel agency
customers. One call is enough to check what the season really allows.
