The hull is from 2010, not 2018

Start with the correction. Our page dated this ship to 2018. That is the year of her refit. The hull left the Vahali yard in Belgrade in 2010, under another name: she first sailed for a different European operator before entering this fleet.

The 2018 refit was no small matter. The middle deck was cut up entirely: thirty small cabins gave way to twenty markedly larger ones. Capacity went from one hundred and eighteen travellers to 98, and the cabin count from fifty-nine to 49. The bistro was given its own kitchen and its own chef.

One hundred and ten metres, and a lift that does not reach everything

Here is the point to know before booking. The lift connects only two decks out of four. Twelve steps separate the other levels, and there is no other route. On a seven-night cruise, those stairs are climbed several times a day.

About four cabins in five have a French balcony. The eight cabins on the lower deck, below the waterline, have a fixed window. The ship covers the Rhine, the Danube, the Main, the Mosel and the Dutch waterways. Our inventory counts ten departures, four in 2026 and six in 2027.

The other ships in the fleet

The ms Treasures shares the same one hundred and ten metre hull. So does the ms Sapphire. The ms Inspire belongs to the longer series. The ms Joy holds the Danube.

The hull and the brand

Two companies share this ship. Scylla AG, of Basel, is the shipowner: it had her built, it owns her, it maintains her. Tauck charters her exclusively, installs its way of travelling aboard and sells her under its name.

The arrangement has held for years and produces well-kept ships. It also has its fragility: in 2026 the shipowner called one hull back for its own brand. A charter ends, ownership does not.

What you pay and what you no longer pay

You no longer pay for excursions, none of them, they are all in the fare. You no longer pay gratuities to the crew, the guides or the cruise director. You no longer pay transfers or luggage handling.

On board the ship, house wine, beer and standard spirits are included all day. Off the ship, the rule changes.

You pay the international flight, its taxes, and your personal expenses. Internet access is provided in a basic form, where available.

Accessibility, unrounded

No wheelchairs and no mobility scooters on the European river itineraries: it is written in the operator's documentation, and the reason given is the hallways, the steps and the ground on excursions. Scooters are refused across all its trips.

Anyone needing help to walk, to reach the table or with personal needs must travel with an able companion. A medical certificate may be requested.

No inventory of adapted cabins exists publicly on this fleet. A missing figure is not a figure: we flag it instead of replacing it with a guess.

Why go through an agency here

Because this operator's contract sends you before the courts of Connecticut, has you waive class action, and rests on no Quebec licence. The only published registration is that of a California seller of travel.

Voyages AquaTerra holds a licence from Quebec's Office de la protection du consommateur. A trust account, the Compensation Fund for Customers of Travel Agents, and someone who answers when a connection collapses the night before departure.

Frequently Asked Questions

The hull left the Vahali yard in Belgrade in 2010, under another name. She was refitted in 2018. Our page gave 2018 as the build year: that was the refit date, not the hull's.
The middle deck was cut up: thirty small cabins gave way to twenty larger ones. Capacity fell from one hundred and eighteen travellers to 98, the cabin count from fifty-nine to 49, and the bistro was given its own kitchen.
The ship can leave. In 2026 the shipowner took one hull of this fleet back for its own river cruise brand, and the operator could do nothing about it. A charter is renewed; it is not owned.
No. On this hull it connects only two decks, and twelve steps separate the other levels. It is the most concrete difference from the four one hundred and thirty-five metre units of the same fleet.
Twelve, between the decks the lift does not connect. There is no other route on board. Over seven nights those stairs are climbed several times a day: worth weighing before booking.
No. Cabins on the upper decks have a floor-to-ceiling sliding window with a railing, which lets in air and light, but no floor surface. No ship in the fleet has one.
No, on none of its trips, river or otherwise. The ban is general and written. On the European river itineraries the wheelchair is refused too, for reasons of hallways and steps.
No. It publishes a policy, which refuses wheelchairs on European rivers, but no count of adapted cabins. The two are different things and the absence of the second deserves saying.
One hundred and ten metres for 49 cabins and 98 travellers. This is the short series of the fleet; the four other European units are one hundred and thirty-five metres and carry one hundred and thirty travellers.
The Rhine, the Danube, the Main, the Mosel and the Dutch waterways. She is the most versatile ship of the fleet on that point, where several of her cousins stay on a single river.
No daily service charge is posted to the account. Gratuities to the crew, the guides and the cruise director are covered by the fare, which sets this operator clearly apart from most cruise lines.
Yes, all of them, and none is sold as an option aboard. The rule holds across the river fleet this operator runs, whatever the size of the ship.
Yes, arrival and departure transfers are included, as is land transport during the journey. It is the international air ticket itself that is not.
Class action and punitive damages: both waivers appear in plain terms in the operator's conditions. Any dispute is pleaded before the courts of Connecticut, under the law of that state.
It steps in for the situations set out in the Travel Agents Act, notably a supplier's failure. The cover has precise limits and does not replace travel insurance.
