SeaDream I: one hundred and twelve guests on a 1984 hull, and 183 departures on our calendar

SeaDream I is the first of the two yachts at SeaDream Yacht Club. We carry 183 departures across 130 dates and 163 routes, from 25 July 2026 to 14 April 2029. It is the fullest calendar in this batch.

The hull

Floated out on 11 July 1983 by Wärtsilä, at Helsinki, in service from 1984. Four thousand two hundred and fifty-three gross tons, one hundred and eight metres by fourteen, three decks open to guests. One hundred and twelve guests, ninety-five crew: near enough one to one.

Four names, three houses

Sea Goddess I for Sea Goddess Cruises from 1984 to 1986, then for Cunard until 1998. Seabourn Goddess I from 1999 to 2001, for Cunard then Seabourn. SeaDream I since 2001. The hull is forty years old and has spent twenty-five of them under her present name.

What a hundred and twelve people change, and what the hull cannot hide

Anchorages large hulls do not approach, a bathing platform aft, a crew that knows you by the second day. The house refuses the word "cruise" and speaks of yachting: it is a commercial stance, but it describes the scale well enough. The other side is real: a 1984 hull does not compare with a 2020 hull on cabins, sound insulation or accessibility. You have to want this format to be happy on it.
