    A ship under construction, not yet a ship

    Scenic Ikon has not been delivered. The first steel was cut in February 2025 and the keel laid in May 2025, at the MKM Yachts yard in Rijeka, Croatia. Delivery is announced for late 2027 and the first cruise for April 2028, out of Venice.

    Our inventory shows zero departure dates for this ship as of 26 August 2026. That simply confirms what the construction schedule says: nothing on this hull is on sale here yet.

    What is announced

    Two hundred and five metres long, 270 guests, 135 suites all with a balcony. Polar Class 6 notation and ice class 1A Super. Two helicopters and a manned submersible, as on both Eclipse ships. An announced tonnage around 26,500, which would make it the largest ship in the fleet.

    These figures come from the builder and the line. They are credible and internally consistent, but none has yet been verified on a delivered ship. The specifications of a ship under construction move, and delivery dates move more often still.

    Why we say no more than this

    Because there is no more to say today without turning an announcement into a promise. We will describe the layout, the restaurants and the rhythm of the days when a delivered ship allows us to verify them, and not before.

    If you are aiming at the first season, tell your advisor early: the first cruises of a new ship are booked long before the hull touches the water.

    The ships sailing today

    Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II are the line's expedition ships currently in operation. Scenic Spirit serves the Mekong and Scenic Azure the Douro.

    Booking here rather than elsewhere

    Voyages AquaTerra is licensed by Quebec's Office de la protection du consommateur. Money paid goes through a trust account and the Compensation Fund for Customers of Travel Agents applies in the situations the law provides. That framework does not follow a booking made elsewhere.

    Allow a connection, often two on distant itineraries, and a hotel night before embarkation. That night is not a luxury: it is the margin that absorbs a delayed flight.
