Oceania: food as the central argument, and long itineraries

Start with a fault that is ours: Oceania Sonata appears twice on our list, one page carrying dates and the other none. That is a duplicate on our side, flagged for correction, not two ships. We would rather tell you here than let you click through to an empty page.

What we carry, measured

Oceania's itineraries are long and port-heavy, and they repeat little from season to season. The number of cruises currently on sale is shown at the top of this page. Oceania Allura, Oceania Riviera and Oceania Vista are among the most heavily scheduled. Other ships carry very few dates with us, which says nothing about the ship itself, only about our inventory.

The owner, and why it matters

Oceania belongs to Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, which bought its parent, Prestige Cruise Holdings, in September 2014. In other words: Oceania, Regent Seven Seas and Norwegian are three brands of one company, and three pages on this site for one owner. It does not make the products interchangeable — they are not at all — but it explains shared policies, and it is worth knowing when you compare.

What really sets Oceania apart

The table. It was founded in 2002 by Frank Del Rio, Bob Binder and Joe Watters, and appointed chef Jacques Pépin culinary director as early as 2003. In practice, aboard: more restaurants for a ship this size, and fewer shows. If you pick a cruise for what happens in the evening, look elsewhere. The sizes vary more than people expect, too: four Regatta-class ships carry about 824 guests, Marina and Riviera about 1,250, Vista and Allura about 1,200.

A caution about Oceania Aurelia

We have no verified public source on her delivery date and we will not give one. If you are considering booking her, have your advisor confirm the departure is actually sold by the line. And we will not say what the fare covers: ask for the written list of the exact departure.

Frequently Asked Questions

The fleet holds mid-sized ships, from the four Regatta-class vessels to the newer Vista and Allura. Oceania Sonata appears twice on our list, which is a duplicate on our side and not two ships. The number of cruises currently on sale is shown at the top of this page.
Ten. Oceania Sonata appears twice in our inventory: one entry carries 88 records, the other none. That is a duplicate on our side, flagged for correction, not two ships.
To the same group as Norwegian. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings bought their shared parent, Prestige Cruise Holdings, in September 2014. Oceania, Regent and Norwegian are therefore three brands of one company, and three pages on this site for one owner. It does not make the products interchangeable — they are not — but it explains shared policies.
The table. It appointed chef Jacques Pépin culinary director in 2003, and that is what it was built on. In practice that means more restaurants for a ship this size and fewer shows. If you pick a cruise for what happens in the evening, this is not the house.
No, and the gap matters. Four Regatta-class ships carry about 824 guests; Marina and Riviera about 1,250; Vista and Allura about 1,200. Between 824 and 1,250 it is not the same ship, nor the same number of reachable ports.
The four Regatta-class ships are the smallest and most intimate; Marina and Riviera are larger; Vista and Allura are the newest. Since food is the line's central argument, the real question stays the itinerary and the season. An advisor will tell you which ship sails on your dates.
She carries 60 records with us. We have no verified public source on her delivery date and we will not give one. If you are considering booking that ship, have your advisor confirm the departure is actually sold by the line.
We will not say it in the line's place. What the fare covers changes here from one departure, market and cabin grade to the next, and we have not measured it departure by departure. Ask your advisor for the written list of the exact departure before booking, not after.
Yes. This page shows the departures we carry online, and our inventory does not always cover the line's full catalogue. Call us with the date and itinerary you found: in most cases we can book it for you.
It depends on the departure and the market, not on the line. If French matters to you, say so before booking: it is checked departure by departure.
On fleets this small, yes: few cabins, and the best go early. Booking far ahead fixes a choice but commits money in advance. Talk cancellation terms through with your advisor before you decide.
Your agency, and it alone. Voyages AquaTerra operates under a licence from Quebec's Office de la protection du consommateur, your payments pass through a trust account, and the compensation fund for travel agency clients covers your departure. That holds whichever line you choose.
