Embassy Suites by Hilton Aruba Resort opened on 1 February 2023, built from scratch rather than converted. Each of its 330 suites holds two separate rooms, a living and dining area and a closed bedroom. It stands at 268 J.E. Irausquin Boulevard, at the northern end of Eagle Beach, on the inland side, but a private tunnel leads straight to its beach area without ever crossing the road. Made-to-order breakfast and an evening cocktail reception are included.

The resort opened on 1 February 2023, purpose-built. It occupies the northern end of Eagle Beach, near the Bubali Bird Sanctuary, with Palm Beach a few minutes away by road. Made-to-order breakfast and the evening cocktail reception are part of the rate, as they are across this brand.

The tunnel: the answer to the boulevard

The hotel sits on the inland side of the boulevard, like several Eagle Beach addresses. The difference here is that you never cross the road: a private tunnel runs beneath the boulevard and opens directly into the hotel's beach area.

For a family with children, a cooler, toys and towels, that distinction is far from theoretical. You leave the lobby, go down, come up, and you are on the sand. No other hotel on the island offers this arrangement.

Eagle Beach, the northern end

Eagle Beach regularly tops world rankings. It is public, exceptionally wide, edged with low buildings rather than towers, and the divi-divi trees bent by the trade winds make Aruba's postcard. The northern stretch, in front of the hotel, remains among the quietest.

The Bubali Bird Sanctuary lies just behind, which puts an entirely different landscape five minutes' walk away: ponds, herons, ibises and an observation platform. Which suite to choose

All units share the same two-room formula, with a king bed or two doubles depending on the category. The difference comes down to orientation, floor and view. Two grand suites offer more space, and accessible units are available.

The living room includes a sofa bed, a table and a light kitchen area, which lets four or five people stay comfortably in a single unit. For a family, the comparison against two conventional hotel rooms tips quickly in this formula's favour.

Where you eat on site

Five outlets cover the day. Brickstones Kitchen handles the morning buffet and the international menu at night, with a terrace facing the sea. The Brickstones Lobby Bar takes over for cocktails, and Brickstones Food-to-Go supplies coffee and sandwiches to carry away.

At the pool, Splash Grill serves lunch and light dinners, and the Splash Pool Bar handles drinks. Made-to-order breakfast is part of the rate, as is the late-afternoon cocktail reception, two inclusions that add up over a family week.

Is it an all-inclusive?

No. The rate covers the suite, the cooked breakfast and the evening cocktail reception. Other meals and drinks are settled as you go. A daily resort charge also applies, and your advisor will confirm the current amount for your dates.

Travelling with children

The Cododo club takes four- to twelve-year-olds with supervised activities. A children's pool, an outdoor playground and cribs round out the offering. The two-room suite layout remains the address's main family argument.

The tunnel settles the boulevard problem, and the water at Eagle Beach shelves gently, calm and free of strong currents. Few hotels on the island are so well designed for young children.

Who this resort suits

It fits families without reservation: two rooms, a kids' club, a tunnel to the sand and breakfast included form a coherent whole. It fits travellers who want a recent building and modern facilities. It fits groups who prefer one suite to two hotel rooms.

What to know before you book

The resort sits about ten kilometres from Queen Beatrix International Airport, roughly fifteen minutes by road. No airport shuttle is offered. Aruba lies outside the hurricane belt and the trade winds blow year-round: they hold the humidity down, keep seaweed away from this coast and mask how strong the sun is.
