At the commercial port moles, about eight kilometres north of the centre. A free port shuttle reaches the Vieux-Port area in around twenty minutes.
No, do not attempt it: the port area is long and charmless. Take the shuttle, a taxi or an excursion. Once at the Vieux-Port, though, everything is walkable.

Yes. Boats from Quai des Belges run trips to these white limestone inlets plunging into turquoise water between the city and Cassis, less than an hour's sailing away. The Frioul islands ferry is the cheapest version.
In the Vieux-Port houses that follow the local charter. It is a fishermen's dish turned monument: better to choose a restaurant that commits to the recipe than the first terrace you pass.
