The richest collection of Khmer sculpture in the world, housed in a dark red pavilion with upswept roofs. Bronze, sandstone and carved wood trace a thousand years of art, from the pre-Angkorian kingdoms to the splendour of Angkor.

Khmer. English is widely spoken in tourism, hotels and museums. French survives among some older residents and in certain institutions, but it should not be counted on.
The dry season, November to April, with November to January the most bearable. March and April are punishing, and the May to October monsoon brings short but heavy late-day downpours.
