Two products worth telling apart

Universal Express gives one ride on the reserved queue at each participating attraction.

Universal Express Unlimited gives the same access with no limit on rides.

Unlimited is the one included with the room at the three Premier hotels. Both are also sold separately, by date and by park, with no need to stay on the resort.

What the benefit does not cover

Universal Epic Universe sits outside it. Express for that park is bought separately. Universal Volcano Bay has its own separate Express access, and its TapuTapu wearable already cuts standing time. A few attractions do not take part in the program, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure among them.

The math that changes the hotel choice

Take a family of four, five nights on the resort, two parks covered. Compare the Premier room against the same room in a lower tier plus four Express Unlimited passes bought for each park day. Depending on the season, the pricier room often ends up costing less than the equivalent bought separately. Depending on the season only: that is why this calculation is done out loud with an advisor, for your dates and your party size, rather than from a general rule.

When Express is worth the most

In high season, during school breaks and the last two weeks of December, it changes the day completely. In low season, with short lines, a lower hotel tier is often enough, and a good advisor will tell you so instead of selling you the most expensive room.
