She is the patron saint of bargemen, and her relics have been venerated in the church of Saint-Maclou since the year 876. Every June the national bargemen's Pardon gathers river people to bless the dressed-over boats.
A former freight barge topped with a bell turret and a cross, moored at the quai de la République: a floating chapel and refuge founded in 1936 for bargemen passing through. The community running it welcomes visitors without ceremony.
