This 12-day tour crosses it with a French-speaking guide, from Glasgow to Edinburgh by way of the Highlands.
You visit Stirling, where independence was fought for, then pass the Kelpies, two 30-metre steel horse heads. The road then climbs past Loch Lomond and through the Glencoe valley to Fort William. A full day is devoted to the Isle of Skye and Eilean Donan Castle, with a stop at the Glenfinnan Viaduct that Harry Potter fans will recognize.
