Description
Bali reveals itself through the hands of those who live there. Hands that fold palm leaves for the morning offerings, hands that pound spices during the cooking class, hands of the woodcarvers of Mas and the silversmiths of Celuk. This tour takes the time to meet them, in a village where you are invited to walk among the rice fields.
Six nights in Nusa Dua serve as a home base. From there, Tanah Lot temple appears on its sea-battered rock at aperitif time, and Uluwatu temple towers above the cliffs while Kecak dancers chant. That same evening, lobster is served with your feet in the sand of Jimbaran. A crossing to Nusa Penida leads to the Kelingking headland, shaped like a dinosaur lying in the ocean.
In Ubud, the pace changes. A convertible Jeep climbs to Jatiluwih, where rice terraces hug the mountain, then a 4x4 reaches Mount Batur and its hot springs. The village of Tenganan, keeper of Bali Aga traditions, completes the portrait. The journey ends on Gili Trawangan, a car-free island where you get around by bike or horse cart and sea turtles swim close to shore.
A French-speaking escorted tour, designed for those who want to understand Bali as much as admire it.
