Right in the heart of town, on the left bank of the Rhine, about twenty kilometres downstream from Koblenz. The medieval walls stand a few steps from the gangway: the call begins with no transition.
More than two thousand years. Founded by the Romans in 12 BC as Antunnacum, it has watched over the Rhine ever since. It is one of the oldest towns in Germany, and river traffic has been continuous here since Roman times.

It is tight. The geyser takes two and a half hours, the old town an hour and a half to two hours. If your call is under five hours, you have to choose. The town on its own is easily walked with no schedule pressure.
